National Home Energy Rating scheme (NHER) which was set up by National Energy Services has launched a new website (April 2006) called "Play the Regs".  It is a free interactive website that offers people in the construction industry the opportunity to see what combination of measures will pass or fail the new April 2006 Building Regulations (England and Wales) Part L for new dwellings.

The tool was developed by NHER scheme in association with the Construction Products Association (CPA). It allows the user to change 15 difference parameters and key criteria on two generic house types (a four bed detached house and a two bed mid-floor flat), and then to see an instant pass or fail under the new Part L carbon targets..
